I’ve been craving Biscoff a lot recently. Which is kind of random, for me. I typically don’t think of Biscoff/cookie butter, and it’s certainly not something I seek out. But I don’t know… the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking… Biscoff sounds kind of good right now. I didn’t even have anything Biscoff to spur the idea! The craving appeared, the idea struck, and here we are. I bought the cookie butter a few weeks ago, and have been waiting to use it. I flew Delta last week and got some Biscoff cookies, but I didn’t eat them… my craving is more for the flavor and less for the texture. But Biscoff butter has little cookie chunks in it? I don’t know if it always has, but I’m not complaining.
I’ve been thinking a fair amount recently about the things that can influence us when we aren’t seeing “influencers” on social media. Or, frankly, ads on social media. I’m still seeing ads and being influenced, but it’s far less overt. What are the forces? The shelves of the grocery store?? The ads that play during football?? I am not buying insurance, so the football ads don’t really work much. It wasn’t football ads that made me crave Biscoff. It was, perhaps, nothing but my own mind reminding me that Biscoff is quite good. Perhaps some things happen without influence!
Anyways… if *I* were an influencer, I’d be declaring this my Biscoff Era. #BiscoffEra #BiscoffCookie #CookieButter #BiscoffBusiness #LetsGetDownToBiscoffBusiness
(Do people still use hashtags?)
I remember these blondies with some frequency, because they were that good. (Amazing that I can remember a bake from 2015… the things that stick.) Maybe I’m being influenced by my 16 year old self.
When I had some Deep Fried Flavored Oreos to use up, I figured a blondie would be the way to do it. I thought of brown butter, but then… Biscoff appeared in my mind. For those wondering, the Deep Fried flavor Oreos were kind of whatever. Just a golden Oreo with chocolate frosting as well as vanilla. Just tasted like an Oreo. Maybe a little extra buttery? Best to just put them in a blondie.
Also… Happy 100th post of 2026! I set no goals for this year, but it’s a nice milestone!
